EnviroCom Awards 2009
Established in 2004, the Health County Forum runs the countywide EnviroCom Awards which are designed to recognise the environmental achievements of businesses, agencies and non-profit organisations that are based or operate in Dun Laoghaire Rathdown County. The Forum members include the Health Service Executive, Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown County Council, Dun Laoghaire Rathdown Chamber, An Garda Siochána, Dun Laoghaire VEC, County Dublin VEC and Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown Community Forum.
At the EnviroCom Awards 2009 presentation on 15 October 2009 the Commissioners of Irish Lights Dun Laoghaire HQ building was a winner in the Sustainable Building category.
The Awards, now in their third year, are renowned for showcasing innovation, dedication and success in environmental management in the county. They also encourage the development of sustainable communities, which reflect the use, and protection of the county's natural assets thus promoting healthy lifestyles.
