Board meets in Dublin's Mansion House

The Commissioners were honoured to accept an invitation from the Lord Mayor of Dublin, Councillor Paddy Bourke, to hold their October Board Meeting in the dining room of the Mansion House on Friday 19 October 2007.

This kind invitation arose as the Board prepares to move to its new office in Dun Laoghaire in 2008, after 222 years meeting in and working from the city of Dublin. The legal basis for the constitution of the Board dates back to an Act passed by the Irish Parliament sitting in Dublin in 1786 and the work of those farsighted legislators has stood us in good stead. Now as we move to our new integrated offices in Dun Laoghaire we look forward to providing continued state of the art aids to navigation supporting safety of life at sea around the coast of Ireland.

The beautiful and historic setting of the Mansion House was much appreciated by the Board members attending the meeting.
