Approaches to Shannon Estuary - Changes to buoyage

The Commissioners of Irish Lights hereby give notice that on or about 15 June 2011, the existing Kilcredaun Buoy will be changed to a Port Lateral Mark and its light synchronized with the Tail of Beal Buoy which will be changed to a Starboard Lateral Mark. At the same time the Beal Spit Buoy will be changed to a Starboard Lateral Mark and its light synchronised with the Carrigaholt Buoy. These changes were recommendations in the 2010 Navigation Review.

The new characteristics of the buoys will be as follows:
