Withdrawal of Coningbeg Lightfloat - Date Deferred

The Commissioners of Irish Lights hereby give notice that due to unforeseen circumstances it is now intended to delay the permanent disestablishment of the Coningbeg Lightflot and the establishment of the new buoyage scheme until on or about the 18 December 2006. The new buoyage scheme consists of a Cardinal 'Superbuoy' (a large bodied high focal plane buoy with high powered light and Racon) to mark the Coningbeg Rock and two cardinal buoys to mark the Bore Rocks and the Red Bank. All three buoys will be AIS (Automatic Identification System) equipped.
