Automatic Identification Systems (AIS)

Welcome to our AIS Web Page. The purpose of this page is to facilitate the exchange of information, views and experiences of AIS.

AIS is a developing technology so by it's nature this site will also develop and grow with time. Suggestions or input are welcome at any time as our aim is to cater for the widest range of stakeholder needs relating to AIS.

While every effort is made to provide accurate and reliable information the Commissioners of Irish cannot accept liability for any errors or omissions.

The International Association of Marine Aids to Navigation and Lighthouse Authorities (IALA) have been to the forefront of developing the standards and operational guidelines for AIS. Through our membership of IALA and other national and international AIS development groups the Commissioners of Irish Lights are in a position to inform the debate on AIS at the highest levels.

It is hoped that this site and in particular the user forum will provide an opportunity for those directly involved in the use of AIS to make their voice heard on its future development.
